What is CTX II?
Clinical researchers use CTX II to measure collagen loss in bones and joints. CTX stands for “C-telopeptide fragments of type II collagen.” Type II collagen is the specific type of collagen you find in cartilage. CTX II “fragments” are a result of degraded collagen. These fragments are excreted though the urinary tract – where they are measured. Elevated CTX-II levels are associated with the progression of osteo-arthritis. In double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trials, BioSil ON YOUR GAME inhibited the fragmentation and brought CTX II back to low-normal levels.†
